Why A Storyboard?

When you want to create media for a project, a storyboard is the most effective way to get your point across. However, some employers may think the process of developing a storyboard is laborious- and time is money! Creating a storyboard is a valuable tool to formulate a plan. Simply put, a storyboard is a visual portrayal for your desired final project. I can sometimes look like a cartoon. Each step of the project should be described in detail (narration, shot list, etc). When the project is visually laid out for your employer, they can easily see what you have in mind. It is easier to budget costs according to your project when each step has been detailed. Employers like to know exactly what they’re getting. No surprises are usually good!

A storyboard also helps your employer understand the emotional connections within the project. Using a storyboard will help identify areas within the project that need clarification. Seeing your project detailed step by step will ensure it is focused and that the desired message is correct. Overall, a storyboard helps reduce the risks of mistakes in your project.
